My client a leading international contractor has an urgent requirement for a QA/QC Manager (Mechanical) for a large Oil & Gas project in Kuwait.

This is a remote work location and suitable for single status only.

Education & Experience:

  • BSc Engineering or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering. HND or equivalent could be accepted if accompanied with strong professional qualifications and experience.
  • 15 years working experience with at least 10 years in QC Engineer/Manager post in oil & gas related projects.
  • Min.4 years of experience as Project QA/QC Manager.
  • Must have the ability to communicate well at all levels within the Project and to demonstrate leadership.
  • Must possess very good planning, presentation, negotiations and organizational skills, the vision to identify quality improvement opportunities.
  • Strong ability to achieve results through motivation and team working.
  • The candidate should demonstrate a sound experience in the execution of all phases in a typical EPCC Contract for an oil & gas facility.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, on behalf of and in conjunction with senior management and Corporate Quality Department, the Quality Policy and objectives, Project Quality Plan, QMP's and any other procedure / document necessary for the successful implementation of the project quality requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance of works with applicable codes, standards, contracts, specifications through suitable examinations and testing.
  • Auditing and monitoring the Project Quality Management System to determine its continuing suitability and effectiveness, and the level of implementation being applied to determine where improvements are needed and recommending/instigating as necessary the appropriate corrective action.
  • Reviewing the project's organizational relationships as they affect quality and developing proposals for improvement.
  • Evaluating Supplier/subcontractor quality systems
  • Participating in Project Management meetings on issues related to the project quality system.
  • Developing and implementing training sessions on the project quality system for the project personnel.
  • Establishing and supervising the project certification section
  • Advising Project Manager on all current quality matters and developments, and areas of concern.
  • Liaising with the Client's Field Quality Coordinator on issues concerning the quality system
  • Issuing monthly QA/QC Report within the first week of the following month.
  • Reviewing the purchase requisitions, purchase orders and supplier quality submissions.
  • Determining and reporting the principal causes of quality losses and non-conformances and coordinating suitable corrective action to address the same.
  • Supervision and coordination of the project team of discipline QC Engineers and/or QC Inspectors as appropriate.
  • Development of Quality Control Procedures and Inspection & Test Plans as appropriate.
  • Implementation of the Inspection & Test Plans requirements and coordination with Construction Management to this end.
