Senior Structural Engineer
Purpose of Role:
To lead a successful team of structural engineers and represent the company effectively in client interactions in Dubai.
Reports To: Structural Associate/Structural Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership:
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Oversee the structural design and analysis of a variety of building types (residential, commercial, etc.).
- Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of structural design deliverables.
- Maintain a high level of technical excellence and adherence to best practices.
- Project Management:
- Manage and coordinate structural engineering aspects of projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Monitor project progress and identify and resolve potential issues.
- Client Management:
- Represent the company in client meetings and presentations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants.
- Effectively communicate technical information to clients and stakeholders.
- Code Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local (UAE) and international building codes and regulations.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all work meets the highest standards of accuracy and quality.
- Business Development:
- Contribute to business development activities by identifying and pursuing new project opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis) from an accredited university.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in structural engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in the UAE/ Dubai.
- Chartered membership with a recognized professional engineering institution (e.g., Institution of Structural Engineers) is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles and design methodologies.
- Strong understanding of local and international building codes (e.g., UAE, BS, Eurocodes).
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla Structures).
