My client a leading international contractor has an urgent requirement for a Planning Manager to work on a remote Oil & Gas project in Saudi Arabia.

Suitable candidates who fulfil the following criteria are invited to apply, candidates with transferable iqamas and available for immediate mobilisation will be preferred.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil or relevant)
  • At least 15 years' experience in Oil & Gas projects as a planner.
  • Competed at least on Oil & Gas project as a Planning Manager.
  • Worked in remote locations.
  • Ability to fulfil the roles and responsibilities outlined.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning:
    • Develop detailed project plans and schedules using software such as Primavera P6.
    • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.
    • Identify critical paths, dependencies, and potential bottlenecks in the project lifecycle.
    • Lead forensic planning efforts focused on resolving project disputes by conducting a thorough analysis of the project's timeline, documentation, and communications.
    • Identifying the root causes of disputes, such as delays or contract breaches, and compile evidence that can support claims or legal proceedings.
  • Scheduling:
    • Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with contract requirements.
    • Adjust schedules based on progress updates, delays, or changes in project scope.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Track project progress against the baseline plan and identify deviations.
    • Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines!
    • Generate progress reports, including Gantt charts, S-curves,…
    • Prepare reports and presentations on planning activities and outcomes.
  • Risk Management:
    • Propose mitigation strategies and recovery plans to minimize risks.
  • Coordination:
    • Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth execution of the plan.
    • Communicate project plans, goals, and changes effectively to all stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align project activities.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of schedules, progress updates, and change orders.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Tools and Software:
    • Proficiently use planning tools like Primavera P6 and other project management software.
    • Utilize spreadsheets and dashboards for analysis and visualization of project data.
