We are seeking a highly experienced Resident Engineer to oversee the construction phase of prestigious luxury residential tower projects in Dubai. You will be responsible for ensuring project delivery in accordance with design intent, quality standards, budget, and schedule. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in the UAE construction industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Professional Qualification:
    • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering (B.A. or B.Sc.)
    • Professional registration as an Architect or Engineer in a recognized body (e.g., RIBA, PEC) - a plus
  • Construction Expertise:
    • Demonstrated experience in construction program scheduling using industry-standard software.
    • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for construction sites.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 15 years of experience since qualification in the construction industry.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience working as a Resident Engineer in a consultancy role on projects in the UAE or GCC.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience managing FIDIC construction contracts in the UAE or GCC.
    • Proven track record of successful project delivery on at least 3 luxury residential towers in the UAE or GCC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Leadership:
    • Manage a team of 10-15 site personnel effectively.
    • Chair and lead site meetings with contractors, clients, and project managers.
  • Project Management:
    • Analyze construction schedules using Critical Path Method (CPM) techniques.
    • Implement effective cost control measures and manage payment applications and certifications.
    • Manage variation orders and final payment/account recommendations.
    • Assess, report, and recommend on contractor claims for time and cost.
  • Contract Administration:
    • Manage construction contracts with multiple nominated sub-contractors and consultants.
    • Oversee contracts with an independently appointed client representative/project manager.
    • Ensure contractor submittals are compliant with project requirements.
  • Quality & Safety:
    • Monitor the quality of work on site and ensure rectification of defective works, including high-quality interior fit-out activities.
    • Enforce safety standards and regulations on site.
  • Reporting and Communication:
    • Provide regular reports to project owners and other stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and report directly to the project owner on critical site issues and contractor performance.
    • Assist in legal proceedings if necessary.
