About the Role:
The Resident Engineer, sometimes referred to as clients representative, will be responsible for overseeing the construction phase of a project, ensuring adherence to design intent, quality standards, and project timelines. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision:
Oversee daily construction activities to ensure compliance with approved construction drawings and specifications.
Monitor the quality of workmanship and materials used on site.
Resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during construction.
Design Coordination:
Coordinate with the design team to address design changes and modifications as required.
Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure they meet project requirements.
Client Liaison:
Maintain regular communication with the client to address their concerns and expectations.
Present progress reports and updates to the client.
Contract Administration:
Review contractor's claims and variations, ensuring they are justified and in accordance with the contract terms.
Monitor contractor's performance and adherence to project schedules.
Safety and Quality:
Enforce safety standards and regulations on site.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential safety hazards and quality issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction site supervision
Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Proficiency in construction documentation and contract administration
